Amaan Khalfan is Goodlife Pharmacy's Chief Executive Officer. Through his extensive executive positions, he has managed large healthcare projects, including being the Chief Operations Officer at Aga Khan University Hospital’s Outreach division, one of the largest network of outpatient medical centers in East Africa. Within this role, he managed over 500 employees and 48 medical centers in the region. Amaan has a degree in Biochemistry from McGill University and an MBA from MacMaster University in Canada. Upon graduation, he worked in various management consulting roles in Kenya and Canada. In Kenya, he set up a consulting firm and was involved in operational restructuring projects in the areas of private equity, agribusiness, manufacturing and sanitation. His aptitude to implement interventions, mobilize teams and apply sound business principles to ensure financial and operational sustainability is key to his success. Justin Melvin is the Chief Retail Officer. He brings over 30 years’ experience to Goodlife, including an extensive background in both the retail and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors, where he held senior executive positions in operations management, strategic planning, business development and partner relations. Prior to Goodlife, Justin served as the General Manager of Kuku Foods Ltd., the East African franchise holder of Kentucky Fried Chicken. Under Justin’s leadership, the company profitably grew its network from 4 to 13 locations countrywide. The company also gained recognition through the 2015 franchise of the year award as the Best Franchise in Africa – a first-time award outside South Africa. Earlier in his career, Justin spent time with global FMCG companies including PepsiCo and The Coca-Cola Company in multiple roles across the globe including, Nigeria, East Africa, Indian Ocean Islands, China, North Africa, Middle East, and Eastern Europe.
Chris Kieu has over 20 years working experience and proven success in Strategic Financial Management, Financial Accounting and Audits, Management accounting, Risk Management, General administration management and Project management. He has served in various senior capacities both locally and internationally working for local and multinational organizations in delivering high end financial solutions in Advisory, FMCG, Advertising and Retail. He has experience working in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Djibouti, Rwanda, Eritrea, Seychelles, South Africa and Switzerland. He has been previously engaged at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte & Touché, ZK Communication (Pty) Limited, Tropikal Brands Limited, Delta Resources Limited, Diageo, and Africa Development Bank. The global exposure has given him the ability to manage competing cultural and functional priorities with significant impact in cost savings, finance management, reporting, tax planning and compliance. Chris holds a Bsc. in Finance from United States International University and is a Chartered Certified Accountant.
Dr. Robert Kimbui is the Chief Pharmacist and Head of Supply Chain at Goodlife Pharmacy Africa. He is a licensed Pharmacist, with over ten years’ experience in health systems strengthening, supply chain management, regulatory affairs, public private partnerships and pharmaceutical distribution. He has worked in the public, private and development sectors of health having worked for the Ministry of Health - Kenya, Laborex Kenya Ltd, Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF) and Management sciences for Health(MSH). He is a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya and holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy, Msc in Economics, Operations and Supply Chain.
Ruth joined Goodlife Pharmacy Ltd in December 2014 and currently holds the position of Head of Human Resources. She has proven professional HR expertise in the implementation of both strategic and operational management of Human Resources Strategy, Talent Development, Performance Management and Employer branding, with over 17 years’ experience in Human Resources from both the manufacturing, accounting and consulting services. Ruth holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Sciences and MBA in Strategic Management from Catholic University of Eastern Africa and The University of Nairobi, respectively. She also holds a Post-graduate Higher Diploma in Human Resources Management and is a member of the Institute of Human Resources Management (IHRM).
