ADHD

ADHD is a chronic condition including attention difficulty, hyperactivity and impulsiveness.

ADHD often begins in childhood and can persist into adulthood. It may contribute to low self -esteem, troubled relationships and difficulty at school work.

A child with ADHD may have trouble paying attention. They may also be impulsive and hyperactive. Children are unable to sit still, especially in calm or quiet sorroundings, Constantly fidgeting, Being unable to concentrate on tasks, Excessive talking, Being unable to wait their turn, Acting without thinking, Interrupting conversations.

How To Prevent ADHD In Children

During pregnancy,avoid anything that could harm fetal development. For example, don`t drink alcohol, use recreational drugs or smoke cigarettes, protect your child from exposure to pollutants and toxins, including cigarette smoke and lead paint, limit screen time.

ADHD In Adults

Behavioural: hyperactivity, fidgeting, impulsivity, irritability, risk-taking behaviours or lack of restraints.

Cognitive: difficulty focusing, forgetfulness, lack of concentration, problem paying attention, racing thoughts, or short attention span

Mood: anxiety, boredom, excitement, learning disability, or sleep deprivation.

Also common: depression, learning disability, or sleep deprivation.

How To Prevent ADHD In Adults

Exercise regularly, especially when you`re feeling hyperactive or restless.

Eat regular, healthy meals.

Get plenty of sleep.

Work on time management and organization.

Connect with people and maintain relationships.

Take medications as directed, and avoid use of alcohol, tobacco, and drugs.

Treatment Of ADHD In Children And Adult

  • Prescription medication from a doctor for both child and adult.
  • Psychotherapy, including cognitive behaviour therapy, might help an adult to become more aware of attention and concentration challenges.
